Deloitte, in partnership with Makers, is proud to announce the launch of its new Software Engineering Bootcamp in Manchester and Bristol.
We’re looking for 25 ambitious individuals ready to retrain as Software Developers, build future-proof tech careers, and join Deloitte’s rapidly growing UK Government Defence team. This fully funded training programme is designed to fast track your journey as a software developer, providing a brilliant basis from which to continue to learn, develop and grow.

Deloitte is launching a new cohort of 25 engineers to support urgent demand from its clients. This programme forms part of Deloitte’s vision for growth, community building, and talent development in Manchester and Bristol and offers a fast-track route into software engineering through immersive, high-quality training delivered by Makers.
The programme will be based in Deloitte’s Manchester and Bristol offices, with a hybrid delivery model and curriculum focused on contemporary digital skills - including Java, cloud, and AI. The Training Course
Join a cohort of twenty-five like-minded, aspiring developers and complete the prestigious 12-week Java Bootcamp delivered by Makers - a leading tech training provider with over a decade of experience. Training is delivered remotely by experienced Software Engineers, with key sessions and events hosted at Deloitte’s offices.
The course will cover the core technologies you'll need for your career at Deloitte, including Java, cloud, and engineering best practices. The curriculum is tailored to the role, equipping you to succeed on projects that use modern development frameworks and tools.
You'll earn a salary of £20,000 during Bootcamp, progressing to £30,900 - £33,900 during Placement with Deloitte (depending on location). Once you've successfully completed the programme, you’ll join Deloitte’s practice, with an expectation to be in the office or client site 4 days a week. The goal is to support your long-term progression into a permanent mid-level engineering role at the firm.
No prior coding experience is needed - just curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to learn.

Interviews with Makers: Date to be confirmed
Only shortlisted candidates will advance to the final interview stage with Deloitte.
Bootcamp start date with Makers: 5th January 2026
Placement start date with Deloitte: 30th March 2026
Training: Your first 12 weeks will consist of learning to code, develop and integrate software via Makers’ renowned bootcamp. This will include specialist training for the role at Deloitte.
After training, you will be on placement for a further 14 months.

Bristol - Although the Deloitte base office location will be Deloitte office in Bristol, most projects will be located in the Gloucester/Cheltenham area. Applicants should be expect to work from these locations

Programme and role information:
Training and Security Criteria
Successful applicants will join the Makers coding bootcamp while Deloitte carries out onboarding and security checks for the role. Please note that this opportunity is contingent on passing Security Check (SC) clearance, which will be processed during the bootcamp period. It is likely that, once in role, you will be required to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
Security Clearance Information:
All successful candidates must obtain a high level of security clearance. Many of these clearances will require you to be a UK Citizen and to have lived in the UK for at least 7 of the last 10 years.
Factors such as nationality (UK or dual), previous nationalities held, and place of birth, can impact your ability to gain clearance.

Register Your Interest
Coding Challenges
Upon registration, you will receive an email asking you to complete our Intro to Python Course. After this, you'll be sent a coding challenge to check for coding aptitude.
There is a minimum pass mark and you'll have 2 hours to complete it. This will be sent after completing Step 1 of the form.
Video Interview with the Makers Selection Team
The Makers Selection Team will review completed coding challenges and those that meet the essential criteria will be invited to an interview with a member of the team.
Interviews last 30 minutes, include time for questions.
Interview with the Deloitte Team
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a 2-step interview process with Deloitte.
Onboarding
The successful candidates will be invited to the Makers bootcamp and the onboarding process. Security checks will be conducted during this time.
FAQs

Yes, you are entitled to a holiday leave package during your placement. However, leave cannot be taken during the Bootcamp training period.
Yes, these roles are contingent on a successful candidate passing a security clearance with the HMG National Security Vetting service.
You must also have had a minimum residency in the UK of 10 years for a Developed Vetting (DV) Clearance.
