Both tracks begin with 8-weeks of Modern Software Engineering Foundations, after which you’ll choose from one of specialisms:
Software Engineering
Our Software Engineering Course begins in Python and over the 16 weeks we cover key competencies and technologies including JavaScript, mobile applications, object-oriented programming and more. You'll work in pairs, teams and individually over the course and build a comprehensive portfolio.

Cloud Engineering
Our Cloud Engineering programme teaches learners to design and manage cloud solutions an optimise for security and cost. Cloud Engineers are in high demand due to the scalability, cost-efficiency, accessibility, and innovation benefits offered by cloud technology.

Course Dates
The application can take up to 2 weeks, so we advise you to apply sooner rather than later to give yourself plenty of time to work through the entry materials.
Hybrid or Remote Learning Available
Hybrid: On this option, you'll spend some weeks onsite at our London Campus and the remainder learning from home.
Remote: The remote course is delivered fully online. Coaching is still delivered live by our team of coaches.

Complete Our Coding Resources
10 days to complete from when you register
Complete our Intro to Python Course. After this you'll be set a coding challenge to check for coding aptitude. There is a minimum pass mark and you'll have 2 hours to complete. This will be sent after completing Step 1 of the form. -

Video Interview
30 Minutes
Should you pass the coding challenge, you'll be invited to a remote video interview with a member of the Makers Selection Team. We'll be interviewing from 19th February. Interviews last half an hour and include time for questions.
If you don’t pass on this occasion we can provide feedback on request and you are welcome to apply for other Makers opportunities after 3 months. -

Final Interview With Deloitte
From 26th February
Successful candidates will be invited to a final stage interview with Deloitte. -

Onboarding
From 18th March
Successful candidates will be then be onboarded into Makers and via Deloittes onboarding process. This is when the security checks will begin.
Support, Finance & FAQ's

Do you offer financing options?
Yes, many of our student choose to fund their course through our financing partners StepEx.
If you are eligible you will pay £2000 to Makers as an upfront payment. After this you'll pay 10% of your earnings over £24,000 as repayments for the first 36 months after graduating.
How do I maximise my chance of getting onto the course?
If you think Makers is the bootcamp for you, there are a few steps to take before submitting your application to ensure you're in as good a position as possible to get onto the cohort you want.
1. Prepare:
- Attend events such as our Info Sessions & Demo Days.
- Use coding resources such as Codewars. (Work through Python tracks)
2. What made you consider a career in tech?
In this section of the application form, our team want to get to know you and understand your motivation to join Makers, and begin a career in the tech industry. Here are somethings we're looking for:
- Your motivation - What led you to want to start a career in tech. Is there a small part of your current role that's related? Are you a keen problem solver? Did a friends career change spark your interest? What ever your drive, we want to know about it. Nothing is the 'right' answer, all we're looking for is dedication and understanding that this isn't just the next 16 weeks. It's your whole future career.
- Why tech? - We want to understand why you want to join the tech industry. What areas excite you? What industry trends have you seen recently?
- Have you tried coding before? - We would love to know if you have any background in coding or have ever tried to do any kind of coding in the past.
- Why Makers? - We want to know why you want to join us here at Makers and what we do that really attracts you to us.
How does job hunting work?
For our bootcamp course, job hunting and skills workshops happen toward the end of the course Our careers team will meet with you and give you tips and advice on writing your CV and how to put together a portfolio.
Our Partnerships team will also help introduce you to employers who specifically want to hire Makers. We call this our Hiring Partner Network.
After students apply for roles, our Selection Coaches help to create shortlists and pass them onto employers. We try to match students with the best role for them and the organisation based on tech stack, company size and culture. The selection team are always happy to share feedback on your application and our process.
If you are selected to interview, you’ll receive all the information you need from our team. There’s lots of support to help you with those applications and offer specialist support for those of you with English as a second language, dyslexia or anything else that might make extra support necessary during the process.
